Some years ago whilst travelling with my husband around Asia I discovered Lacquer ware. I was captivated by the wonderful colours and shapes and the deep glossy finish, I had to have some! I bought several pieces to take home and would have bought more if I could have fitted them in my suitcase. Whenever friends or family came over and saw my lacquer ware they loved it and wanted some of their own, they could not believe like me that it was made of bamboo.

After much research and deliberation I resigned from my job to start my own business designing and importing lacquer ware. I had always believed in Fair Trade and decided to conduct my business along those lines. I love modern designs having been involved for some time with interior design and I was sure other people would find lacquer ware equally as attractive as I did and share my passion. I wanted to create an East meets West range of designs which would be functional and beautiful and appeal to all types of people. I looked for skilled artisans who could produce unique high quality lacquer ware in the Eastern traditional way and combine it with modern Western design. I consulted with artists who could translate my designs and also input their ideas to create a blend of both cultures.

As you will see I have created just that, a mix of very different shapes, colours and designs, some very innovative and some with a more traditional style. I feel there is something that appeals to everyone in my collection from nine to ninety, from modern penthouse apartment to family home and country cottage.

Judging from the reaction I have had from customers coming back time and time again to buy more pieces not just for themselves but for gifts for family and friends I now know many people are sharing my passion for Lacquer ware.
